Renewal of an apartment in the Estrela neighborhood

Located in the emblematic Estrela neighborhood of Lisbon, the project proposes the refurbishment of a remarkable apartment through a small-scale intervention guided by the preservation of the unit’s original identity. The proposal carefully reorganizes the private spaces, adapting them to the owner’s needs and promoting a clearer functional reading, in keeping with the historic character of the building.

The preservation of period features was handled with particular care throughout the process, allowing the living space to be upgraded without compromising the building’s authenticity and architectural memory. Of particular note is the unique turret, which was fully preserved, including its stained-glass windows, offering 360º views over Lisbon and evoking the image of a lighthouse.
