D. Dinis House

The transparency that dissolves the boundary between house and garden.

The Casa D. Dinis project consisted of the rehabilitation and extension of a multifamily building located in Campo de Ourique, in central Lisbon, which was converted into a single-family residence. The intervention included not only the existing building, previously occupied by several residential and commercial units, but also its garden, organized across different exterior levels.

The proposal was based on a thorough rehabilitation of the building’s interior while preserving its main volume, alongside the introduction of a new, fully transparent rear façade, allowing the garden to become an integral part of the house.
