The Casa Estrela project consists of the legalization and alteration of an existing multi-family residential building, located in the Estrela neighborhood, with the aim of adapting it to the requirements of a new single-family residential program. The intervention reduces the number of existing units from four to a single dwelling. The proposal preserves the building’s identity by maintaining the essence of its façades, volumetry, and outdoor space, introducing only targeted adjustments to the rear elevation and roof, namely through the modification of openings, the removal of enclosed balconies, and the introduction of dormer windows. The existing courtyard is requalified, incorporating a small swimming pool while preserving the fruit trees.
