Aldeia do Caos is a project developed following a competition won by the studio, to be implemented in the Biscainho area, in Coruche. The competition was launched by a group of senior friends seeking to create a residential complex specifically designed for the senior community, based on a collaborative village model that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cultural well-being of its residents, while also encouraging coexistence and intergenerational sharing.
The urban design is based on a regular cellular structure, allowing for the repetition of housing modules, ensuring typological diversity and construction efficiency. The development is organized into two residential clusters, north and south, separated by a large green space crossed by a watercourse to be revitalized. In total, the program includes 100 dwellings, both individual and paired, complemented by shared-use buildings, leisure areas, and community gardens. The outdoor spaces are designed using natural materials and integrated landscape solutions, enhancing the renaturalization of the watercourse and the creation of a continuous green structure.
